Short Story Month: The Half Pint Gal

Two contributor copies of Kaleidotrope arrived today. Always an exciting event. Especially when you discover a large white envelope and think, 'What'd I order?'

I live in constant surprise (it's a nice town).

Day three of short story month (we don't talk about May 1st), and I'm turning into the half-a-story a day girl. I finished yesterday's story just before tea (today) and I'm ending today half-way through my next story. But at least there are words here and heck, I may be able to use some of them when it comes to editing.

Short Story Month tally:
1. Blow a Whistle, I'm done (1876 words)
2. The Lies Moths Tell (1199 words)
3. The Handiwork of Commerce (448 words - still writing)

I miss writing shorts, I really do. The buzz you get when you finish one is unbeatable. You'll be all buzzed out by the end of May!

v-word: corkish, which is what woodpeckers feel sometimes. No? Please yerself.

You're really cleaning house, Cate. Good work!

Congrats on Kaleidotrope,too. It's a nice mag. ;)

Good on you, Cate! Does this mean there'll be another collection soon? :D

V-word: Flowby. You should do a blog where everyone has to disclose their verification words, and then build a story around them... I suspect you're one of the few writers who could do it justice.

I'm hoping to be buzzed out in June, Mike. I'm not editing them until then. Expect cries of despair.

Erm... We don't talk about today, Aaron

Not at all, Simon. I just desperately need some stories to send to magazines.

Contributor copies FTW!

Sounds like you're getting a good amount done. I'd say half a story a day is awesome!

Keep it up. :-)

Congrats on the contributor copies, and on writing so many stories so far!

Wow. I am totally in awe of this. I'd be lucky to write three short stories in three months, let alone a few days.

You are amazing.

Congrats on Kaleidotrope!

If you haven't done any zombie shorts, you should seeing as May is National Zombie Awareness Month. Can't let them go unnoticed.
