Wake Up Pill Required

Oh my, I have a head like a nodding dog today and it's possible I'll fall asleep while typing up this post. First day back at work since December 23rd and I am done, done, done, done in.

I'm supposed to be working on the second draft of my first short story of the year - Opheliac - and I'm so busy yawning it's lucky my MC can breathe underwater or he'd drown. My brain is trying to convince my fingers that one short story a month is plenty and who needs to work on a novel. (Major yawn and more nodding of head.) So much for cutting my swath through 2010. Maybe I should sew up my lips before I make any other wild declarations.

Though, on ruling 2010 blah, blah, blah, I did get a rather wonderful rejection from Brain Harvest today. That's a step in the right direction, I think... And at least I didn't slip in the ice on the way to or on the way home from work.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....

Good luck on the short story. Also, I believe you could benefit from a nap...

I believe that all adults could benefit from naps.

Or perhaps a Siesta, that sounds like a more grown up word. :D

How weird, we had exactly the same holiday (in terms of time off)!

You're not me are you?

If I was, I'd have sent myself a lovely email. ;)

Oh wow, Opheliac. Seriously, such a cool title.

I've already had my first rejection of 2010, and seeing as I hardly ever submit anything, that's impressive!

Katey, I win - I'm up to four. :D

I see your four rejections and I raise you one. When I feel tired (as you seem to today) I just pack it in. No need to force words that won't come out.

I'm hearin' ya. It's taken me a week just to get back on form after my holidays. I need a holiday from the holiday :)

I know the feeling.

Go put on your red dress and invite people over for a drink - then sleep for three days.

If nothing else, it should be fun!

Please don't say "nap" again. I almost fell asleep reading that.

Rich, been there, done that, bounced.

Thanks, Tythia,

Carrie, I'm an insomnia cure.
