Trailer Tuesday

Or otherwise titled, Steven Spielberg watch out because Cate Gardner's after your job... About ten days ago, I gave myself ten days to edit (again) my first MG book, and then I discovered Windows Movie Maker. First off, I convinced myself, I wasn't procrastinating because the trailers would promote my short stories, and then came this...

...which doesn't relate to a short story at all. I've titled it 'A Tale of Nothing', and if you've watched it you'll know why. I invited my Mum to the premier last night, and she nearly wet herself laughing. I may have gone wrong somewhere.

Oh, and if you want to see how a short story trailer should be done, check out Aaron Polson's, The Ox-Cart Man trailer.

Stop tempting me! I'm not smart enough to make movies, I can barely cut/paste codes from YouTube.

*weeps bitterly*

The whole trailer business sounds interesting...I'm going to have to swithc computers to see that as the "work provided" computer in my office blocks my ability to download a viewer. Like Natatlie, though, I'm a techno-dinasaur and probably couldn't do it to save myself (but perhaps my kid could?)

That was nice...kept me guessing...what next?

Stupid pale man. You ruined the field trip.

You guys really have to stop posting these things before I cave...

My favorite line was 'the field trip to the museum was canceled." Liked the pictures you had in it, it worked well with the font.

Natalie, I won't stop until you give in. :)

I bet you could do it, Alan.

Aaron, I wagged my finger at the stupid pale man when I passed him on the way home from work. He offered me a stony glare.

Four words, Barry - Birdwatching From Mars trailer.

Jamie, do you think Speilberg's sweating yet?

Funny you should mention that, Cate. I began the search for images yesterday...

I'm loving these trailer things! I'd love to have a crack at one myself.

I'm with Natalie-- there's no way I'm smart enough to make those things. But y'all are making me happy with yours! That was fun-- and yeah, jerk, ruining the field trip :/

I loved that! And I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't for an actual story. Maybe you could write a story to go with it.

I've got my music and images for my trailer, now I just have to put them together.

I think you should definitely write something to go with it.

Cate Gardner said...

Do it, Sophie.

Katey, you so could do one. Movie Maker makes everything simple. Without it, I'd be lost.

K.C., Danielle, I think it was semi-interesting up until the museum field trip, and then it sank into depressingville.

I thought it was really well done. Although the letters zooming in towards the naked statue's itty bits made me laugh too. ;)

Yep. I'm a perv.

Ha! My mum asked was I allowed to post him on the internet. :)

Dammit, you guys all have me wanting to do a trailer, which means I would need to put down my novel and try to get a short published...ARGH! I want to make one so bad!
