Those people who have not blogged in days should be made to stand at a blackboard and write 'I will find something to blog about... I will find something to blog about...' one hundred and seventy times and if, by the time they've finished, they still haven't figured out what to blog about their entry will read something like this...
Earlier this week during a bout of daydreaming that didn't include -
Tim Burton building a Gothic Hollywood Castle in celebration of my brilliance or,
an agent (with a publisher in their pocket - just add water and they grow to full size) arriving at my door with a quill and parchment for me to sign or,
Jensen Ackles hitchiking on The Strand (ahem!)
- I imagined I'd have written about 15,000 words of 'Church of the Vacant Lot' by now. The buzzer just sounded and the answer is wrong, wrong, wrong. The word count to the left still lies, only now it's only a couple of hundred words out. I've been working on something else instead, it goes by the title 'The Sour Aftertaste of Olive Lemon', at times it makes no logical sense and it is still about 4,000 words short of its target - such is life. Darn editors enticing me with their fabulous plans that could result in Tim Burton building a Gothic Hollywood Castle to ensure I am safely secured behind bars...

Can I say once more how much I love your titles? I need you to give a workshop, man.
Also amused at how similar our daydreams are, really. But not surprised. Is Jensen Ackles singing "Eye of the Tiger" to himself, by chance, as he wanders along The Strand?
He wasn't yesterday but he possibly will be tomorrow. ;)
Sounds as productive as my week has been. Spring fever is what I am blaming it on.
It's spring? Someone should tell the weather gods.
One of your titles is worth 1,000 words.
I'm seriously thinking of paying Cate to put titles to some of my stuff. ;)
Jensen Ackles... you know if you stop to lick him, he's yours?
Your titles are alays amazing!
I hear eating mango can help with the aftertaste : P
I read this post twice!
If there was ever a short post which summed up the writing, and possibly the mind of an author, this gets my vote.
You are an amazing writer/woman, Cate - and I mean that in only the best of ways.
Hint: All writers should blog as often as possible. Blogs now list other blogs using these little widgets. Your blog should try to stay somewhere near the top so others will come more often. Blog rolls get long and many don't browse further than halfway down a blog roll so if you don't blog often, you'll get missed by potential visitors - so go blog.
Aaron, now all I need is the editor to agree with you.
Jensen - ooh! Now all I have to do is catch him.
Matthew - nice title, shame about the story. ;)
Natalie, it may come to the point where Olive has to juggle some just to get me a few extra words.
BT, I love the blogroll for the simple fact it means I don't waste time clicking on blogs that haven't been updated that day. We need all the tools we can get to aid us in our fight against procrastination.
I'm way guilty of blog neglect...and, sadly, writing neglect. There isn't a corner dark nor lonely enough for me this week...
"The Sour Aftertaste of Olive Lemon"? Effing brilliant!
Guilty. I'm at the bottom of your list! So much to blog about, so little time. Thanks for the kick, Cate.
I'm gonna go post now :)
jensen ackles is nice. but i think the guy who plays his brother in supernatural is nicer. though apparently not nice enough for me to remember his name...
