The fabulous Jodi Lee has nominated me for an Honest Scrap award.
The Award and Rules:
This award is bestowed upon a fellow blogger whose blog content or design is, in the giver’s opinion, brilliant. That is of course why she picked me. :)
Apparently the rules are as follows:
1. When accepting this auspicious award, you must write a post bragging about it, including the name of the misguided soul who thinks you deserve such acclaim, and link back to the said person so everyone knows she/he is real.
2. Choose a minimum of 5 blogs that you find brilliant in content or design. Or improvise by including bloggers who have no idea who you are because you don’t have seven friends. Show the seven random victims’ names and links and leave a harassing comment informing them that they were prized with Honest Weblog. Well, there’s no prize, but they can keep the nifty icon.
3. List at least ten (10) honest things about yourself. Then pass it on!

The Honest Scrap Award goes to....
Class of 2K9, a blog of debut authors, for allowing us to accompanying them on their journey. Plus, who doesn’t want to be a part a future group – I’m aiming for 2011.
Brenton Tomlinson – because I don’t think I’ve awarded him anything before, and because he goes out of his way to point out excellent writing tips he’s found on the web.
Jessica Burkhart whose first book was published earlier this year and who has an inspiring number of books due over the next two years. She reminds me how much I loved series books as a child. Plus, it looks as if she’s all set for a career most of us would kill for.
Barry Napier who with a new arrival in the family needs encouragement to stay amongst us, plus his blog always looks cool.
Carrie Harris because she’s insane and because she insists we participate in her insane world.
10 Honest Things about me.
1. Interacting with other writers on the internet has made me more confident, because…
2. In real life I have no confidence at all.
3. I love opening mail – it doesn’t even have to be addressed to me.
4. I eat far too much chocolate.
5. Driving scares the crap out of me so I don’t. If I was in government we’d be crawling everywhere at no more than 30 miles an hour.
6. I hate litter bugs. I doubly hate litter bugs who drop things in the street when they are standing close to a bin or who open their car windows and throw their crap out.
7. I love handbags and I hate shoes.
8. I am an eternal optimist. Knock me down and like those pins in a bowling alley I get back up. I’m convinced each new book I start is the one that will finally sell. I guess that means I’m also a fool. :)
9. I have claustrophobic legs.
10. I’d like to be buried at the bottom of the ocean by men wearing scuba outfits.

Where would they put your tombstone?
They'd carve my name on the side of a sunken ship.
Interacting with you has made me a more confident writer. Oh, and a comment on #6...good thing you don't see the hallways around here after class changes.
Yikes.
I can imagine. I was probably a hall monitor in a previous life.
I don't drive either! I'm too afraid I'm going to hurt someone.
Me too.
Plus the truth is, I can't even walk in a straight line.
Insanity is a good thing. Group insanity is even better. :) Thanks for the award!
Do you write barefoot? (For some reason I find that strangely arousing...)
Eww, Ian. Tell me you're not a strange foot fetish person??? I hate feet - ugly, nasty things.
Somewhere I read that feet are cleaner than hands - because feet usually stay covered and clean, while hands are always touching things...germy, dirty things.
Congrats on your award!
Cool award. I agree, feet are horrible. Foot fetishes - blah!
Thanks, girls.
I'm thinking of running a campaign to ban sandals. ;)
Why shucks, Miss. That be mighty kind of you.
And thank you for giving it to me before most of the others in our little group so I have a chance to drop them in it - err, give them the honour.
Coming up with 10 honest things is hard...
Jamie, Aaron, D, Nat, & JT - tag.
