This has been a weekend dedicated to the number three. Oh, and it's not over yet - joy.
First off the three winners of the ScaryCircusAct competition were announced.
Then we have three publications - not all mine. :)
My story The Man who wasn't a Man at all is up at Flash Scribe. And it doesn't matter what browser you use this time, it is viewable in all. Phew! It is a follow up to the first story 'The Man who Climbed out of a Suitcase', but I think it stands alone with no problem.* She hopes.
Barry Napier's story Colonists is up at Flash Scribe as well. You may want to eat your breakfast before moving onto Barry's nasty little tale.
And then we have Jamie Eyberg's story Nine which is available to read at 52 Stitches. Hope you like cats. Nah, it's a horror story - I hope you don't.
Now of course, if all good things come in threes and the above two things were good, I am sure you'll agree, why were the final three things rejections from Shimmer, Arkham Tales, and Asimov's. ::Scowls:: I will kick this rejection habit by summer.

I refuse to count the Asimov one as a proper rejection - I'm using it as proof that I'm trying.

Arkham tales rejected me as well. I think I'm going to leave them alone for a while, unless "Mortimer, Inconvenienced" is rejected during their next submissions period.

The Man Who Wasn't A Man At All stands alone just fine - as I wasn't able to (and still can't) read the first one due to stupid browser issues.
I've read a few of your twisted little tales now and I'm finally seeing what Aaron is talking about when he talks about your voice all the time. It is definitely distinct, as is the manner you construct your stories, and the content within them. I enjoy all three; it's refreshingly different. Bravo.

I loved it! You've cranked up the "OMG" factor a few notches in this one. :) It stands alone just fine, too, although it was fun to read it with the first installment still fresh in my mind.
Can't get into the first instalment, but this second one is brilliant.

After it loads, it always says: DONE BUT WITH ERRORS ON THE PAGE and the page is blank.
I'd really like to see the first one, too. Actually, I wouldn't mind reading a lot of Burt stories. I loved his character.
Natalie, how can something with the title 'Mortimer Inconceived' be rejected? Fingers crossed the pub. picks it up, though not before the story I picked wins your competition.

I'm looking back over my blog and realize I only announce my acceptances and not my rejections. That wasn't really my intention, but it just happened. I'd have many more posts if I put them up.
I've moved Shimmer down my list of places to submit to, mainly because they've gotta be sick of rejecting me. Strange Horizons, however...
And Asimov? I haven't even dared to submit there. It is, indeed, proof you're trying.
Oh god, I don't list all my rejections. If I did, I'd be posting hourly. :)
