Otherwise known as the post where Cate has lost the will to live.
I haven't written for days. I had the bright idea that I was fed up with the crappy Christmas Crackers that you buy in store (this has happened before so I should have known better) and that I would make my own. Two days later I'm drowning in fun gifts, serious gifts, cool gifts and gifts too big to put into tiny crackers - I only had to make 42, how hard could that be? :)
The first ones I made were cute, the final ones ugly, ugly, ugly. Note to family members (yep, like you're reading this - hi Joe) the ugly crackers may have the best gifts as they have little notes inside leading you to the things too big to wrap pressies - it's a not too big treasure hunt as my house is tiny. Oh, and don't expect to find a box of Milk Tray in one of the extra cracker presents - I'm eating them. Yum! Strawberry cream.

Live, Damn You, LIVE!
I have a really good recipe for toffee sticks and something that resembles a reese's peanut butter cup if you want to try your hand at them. :)
Okay...I need to know what a Christmas cracker is...
I've been confused since a biscuits/cookies mix up when I was a kid. ;)
LOL! That continental divide strikes again. :)
Christmas Crackers are made of paper, when you pull them apart they go bang and they are normally full of crap mirrors, tweezers, playing cards, silly cheap stuff plus paper hats and cracker jokes - because I've made my own they have sweets (yay! and that's chocolate and candy to you), cool hair stuff, make-up, costume jewellery, toys etc.
It sort of sounds like a hand-held piniota (sp).
Pinata's are so much more fun! :)
I like things that go bang. I like pinatas. Anything with candy, sweets, yum-yums inside...
I wish I could send you some, but a) I don't want to make any more (it was Hell) and b) the US postal service would kill me for sending fireworks (however small) in the post. :)
And I thought holiday crackers were something you put in the oven and baked; little dry snappy things like gingerbread men. Laugh a lot and call me Yank. :)
