At last - it's only taken a couple of months - I have composed the query letter for 'The Poisoned Apple'. My first submission - to one of the top agencies, of course - should be hitting their desks right about now.
I found Query Shark's blog invaluable. After writing (one moment, I just need my fingers for counting) eight horror novels and one other childrens' novel, all of which are collecting dust and cluttering up my study, I guess I need all the help I can get.

That's a really good site, thanks for the linkage!
And good luck for the query, hope it works out!
Now when you make it big, I can point and say "I used to read her blog!"
Cheers, guys.
JC, 'I used to read her blog!' You mean you're going to abandon me. :( Tut, tut, tut.
Lots of luck, Cate! :)
And this post reminds me that I’ve become something of a submissions slacker. Time to get busy!
Abandon is such a strong word! I would phrase it more like "be overrun with babies, stepchildren and animals, and unable to find time for myself"
Mary, get those subs out.
JC- I'm sure you'll find your groove once the twins arrive. It's when they're teenagers and they want to use the computer that you'll need to worry.
Hi, Catherine! Thanks for visiting my blog. Fingers crossed for your query!
Good luck, Catherine!

Exciting news! Be sure to keep us updated on it! Best of luck!
