A bad week just got even worse. You know when you're really down and everything is just kick, kick, kicking at your shins and your teeth and your head. And your sanity...
After completing almost 2,000 words of The Poisoned Apple today, I decided to have a browse at a couple of other writers blogs and found this: The Poison Apples. I am now going to find a very, very empty place to scream in.

Oh, I know I saw that today too (don't remember how I got there or where I saw it) and I thought, Oh NO!!
I'm sorry. That really sucks. You might be able to keep it if the stories are different enough. Lots of books have similar names. Still, it sorta sucks the fun from your "original idea" when someone else beats you to it.
Give yourself a few days. It might not seem so bad?
It won't be hard to re-title your work.
Honestly, my book has almost the same title as a culthit blaxploitation film, and two YA titles.
Nothing to worry about, really.
I have a couple of other titles I could possibly use but I so love 'The Poisoned Apple'(so much so I named my blog after it). I guess I'm only in the first draft stage so I shouldn't panic just yet...
Aw, that does suck! :(
Perhaps you can add a single word, maybe two to add to your title's uniqueness.
Or, maybe your blog readers could help you come up with a new title...
One Really Bad Apple
Apple Poisoning 101
Granny Smith's Recipes
I know, I know, I'm being silly. But I hope I made you smile just a bit.
Here's hoping next week is all good for you.
Jessica & Virginia - thanks for commenting, and for the titles V :), yes you did make me smile. Cate :)
Clearly their book is about multiple apples whereas your book will focus on ONE - I don't know about anyone else but I'd rather read about one, single, solitary apple that deals with it's posioning than a whole bunch of apples that will obviously have moral support from its poisoned friends.
(Hopefully it doesn't seem to bad by now but in case it's still bugging you, I thought I'd throw in my two cents. Just thought I'd join in the freindly fray of cheering you up:) )
